Galaxy Z Fold 7 Tipped To Bring ‘Industry-First Technologies’ — And We’re Intrigued

Contents
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will bring some “industry-first technologies”, says a well-known tipster. This information comes from Ice Universe, a trusted tipster from China who is rarely wrong with his information.
Having said that, in his post on X, he also said that “Samsung finally got serious”, referring to these industry-first technologies, of course. That’s all he said, unfortunately. He did not elaborate at all.
In all honesty, we’re not sure what he’s talking about. We’ll have to wait for more information. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be thinner than its predecessor, but nothing that was rumored thus far can be categorized as an “industry-first technology”.
We’ve exclusively revealed the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 earlier this year. It will not look all that different compared to its predecessor, but it will be thinner and quite possibly lighter. It will also include a larger display, both main and cover panels.
A silicon-carbon battery comes to mind, but that’s not an industry-first tech
A silicon-carbon battery remains a possibility, but that also can’t be considered an industry-first technology, not even close. Many Chinese companies have been using such batteries for a while now, and that goes for foldable phones too.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor will fuel the device. That is the same chip that fuels the Galaxy S25 series. It is an overclocked version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
The phone will arrive in more than one storage option, while Samsung is expected to include either 12GB or 16GB of RAM inside of the phone. We are hoping that the price won’t change, though it remains to be seen.
The phone will be thinner than its predecessor, and it’s coming in July
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be under 5mm thick when unfolded, and under 10mm thick when folded. That alone is a considerable improvement compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
This smartphone will become official in July, at least based on rumors. The launch event will allegedly take place in New York.
