Best Of CES 2025: TCL Smart Lock D1 Pro

AI-powered vein recognition provides even more security for your home or office.

We have seen a handful of interesting smart locks being announced at CES 2025. Well, the TCL Smart Lock D1 Pro is easily one of the most interesting ones that CES had to offer. We’ve actually decided to hand over one of our CES 2025 awards to TCL because of that. This is not your ordinary smart lock, as it features AI-powered palm vein recognition for even more security for your home, office, or wherever you intend to use it.

The TCL Smart Lock D1 Pro has palm vein recognition with “unrivaled accuracy”

This smart lock was originally announced in late 2024, but it managed to get a lot of attention at CES 2025. It consists of two parts, as regular smart locks do. The part that goes on the outer side of the door is the most interesting one here. That’s the one that offers palm vein recognition. TCL said that this smart lock offers “unrivaled accuracy, convenience, and security at an affordable price point.”

The AI palm vein recognition is nearly impossible to fool, so it offers plenty of security. If you prefer other methods of unlocking, however, they are at your disposal. You can use keypad entry, cards, app control, mechanical key, period password, and voice commands through Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. This smart lock makes it easy to leave a key at home, but also to make other people gain access, if you need that.

This smart lock can operate in extreme temperatures

There is a 7,800mAh battery built into this smart lock. The device can even operate in extreme temperatures from -55 to 60°C. The TCL Smart Lock D1 Pro is also IP54 certified, so you don’t have to worry about rain or anything of the sort. This device is weather-resistant, so you’re good to go. TCL’s app gains you full control over its capabilities, and Wi-Fi connectivity is included, of course.

If you’re in the market for a new smart lock, this may be just the thing to get. Once you get it all set up, which doesn’t seem to be a problem at all, you’ll have easy access to your home or office. It delivers a rather simplistic design, so it can blend with basically any setup you have going on. Giving TCL’s Smart Lock D1 Pro one of our CES 2025 awards was a rather easy decision.
