If you’re someone who likes to get a lot of curated information at a glance, then the Google Discover feed is the perfect way to get it if you’re using an Android phone or tablet. While not everyone loves the feature, some have embraced it, truly making it their own by adding their own interests to make the content appear more appealing.

While it’s been limited to mobile devices for quite some time, we knew that it would eventually find its way to desktop products thanks to a small tease from Google just last month. With that said, Google is now finally making it available for desktop users, bringing the Discover feed to the Google homepage for some.
It’s finally happening

The folks at Android Authority were able to share the news that this was now going live, thanks to a report from a user on X. Just to be clear, if you’re in the US, you might not see the Discover page when navigating to the Google homepage just yet, because it appears that this could be limited to certain regions for now.
As far as where this feature is appearing, Android Authority reports that the feature is live in Australia and New Zealand. The good news is that you can test it yourself, as we did, just by heading to “http://google.com/?gl=nz”. By navigating to the website, you should be able to get the Discover feature to show up, which will allow you to see current news that’s making the rounds.
Of course, this is just the beginning, and we should see this roll out to more regions. With Google I/O set to take place this week, there’s a pretty good chance that we might hear more about this. But, you’ll need to check back tomorrow, since the two-day event starts on May 20.
For the most part, this should be an interesting addition to the desktop version of Google. It’s taken some time to come to fruition, and as mentioned before, it’s not going to be for everyone, but those that like to get their news at a glance will surely enjoy the new feature.
