Motorola makes some of the best midrange phones you can buy, with solid performance at a decent price. Moto stands out from the crowd because it offers aggressive sales on its phones shortly after launch, and carrier discounts help you save even more money. The Moto G Stylus 2025 is a fantastic example. It was recently released for $400, but I expected carrier discounts to significantly cut into that amount, making it a more attractive offer.

Total Wireless is the first carrier offering a deep discount on the Moto G Stylus 2025. If you activate a plan, you can pick up a new G Stylus for only $200, a 50% discount from MSRP. I liked the G Stylus at $400, but I love it for $200. If you’re already considering switching carriers, and it’s time for a new phone, this Total Wireless deal might be enough to tempt you to switch.

Why you should buy a Moto G Stylus 2025

Default app suite with the stylus removed on the Moto G Stylus 2025

I enjoyed reviewing the Moto G Stylus 2025. I already liked last year’s version, but Motorola made several improvements for 2025. It still features a gorgeous 6.7-inch OLED screen refreshing at 120Hz. It’s 1080p, but Motorola improved the contrast and made the display brighter, with 3,000 nits max brightness. I love that Motorola puts excellent panels on less expensive phones, and the G Stylus 2025 is no exception, with a panel that punches above its weight for only $200.

The G Stylus 2025 is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, with 8GB of RAM. It’s a surprisingly snappy combination, and I got better-than-expected performance, even while gaming. You won’t be able to run Genshin Impact at high settings, but the gameplay experience was smooth with a lower graphics setting. Multitasking worked well, and I never experienced significant slowdowns or lag while testing. Of course, the stylus is one of the main highlights of the G Stylus 2025. I enjoy Moto’s stylus apps, and the company makes it easy to scribble out a note or send a GIF to friends.

The G Stylus 2025’s battery life is also impressive. I get two full days of use on a single charge from its 5,000mAh cell. If you go heavy on gaming, you’ll need to top off sooner, but Motorola improved that experience for 2025, including 68W wired charging. When you add a decent 50MP primary camera sensor, the G Stylus 2025 provides a well-rounded smartphone experience at a wallet-friendly price.

Motorola’s new Moto G Stylus looks to keep the great design from its predecessor and match it with some more modern specs. Whether that’s enough to shy buyers away from the best of Samsung and Google, however, remains to be seen.
