T-Mobile’s New Plans Reveal Why You Shouldn’t Trust Carriers

Summary: T-Mobile has just revealed its new Experience Beyond and Experience More plans. These offer all of the perks of the Go5G plan with the addition of features like Starlink satellite communication and more hotspot data. Along with that, Metro has also unveiled four new plans called the Starter and Flex plans. The issue is that T-Mobile can only ensure that the prices will stay the same for five years.

T-Mobile is in a tough spot right now with its customers. The company has been going through some issues with data leaks, price hikes, and bugs that charge people for free lines. All of this has probably hindered its public appearance and pushed people over to its competitors. So, what is a company to do?

T-Mobile just unveiled two new plans that it hopes will entice more people over to the Magenta side. Along with that, it also unveiled four new plans for Metro by T-Mobile. The main issue is that you probably won’t want to get them if you like your price to stay the same.

T-Mobile unveils two new plans, here’s Experience Beyond

These two new plans are under the Experience name. They’re called the Experience More and Experience Beyond plans. They are on feature parity with the likes of the Go5G plan. So, they’re pretty feature-packed. Experience beyond is more feature-packed. It costs $100/month if you use autopay. So, expect it to cost more without autopay. For two and three lines, it costs $170/month, and for four lines, it costs $215/month. Remember, these are the prices for people with autopay on. If you want to add a smartwatch or tablet to your plan, it will cost an additional $5/month.

With it, you get 250GB of high-speed and hotspot data (then unlimited data at 600Kbps), 15GB of high-speed international data (then unlimited data at 256Kbps), unlimited talk and text + 30GB of data in Mexico and Canada. Along with that, you’ll get a subscription to Apple TV+, Netflix (with ads), Hulu (with ads), MLB TV, and MLS Season Pass.

One of the major features of this plan is the satellite connectivity through Starlink. It will grant you access to more than 560 satellites. They’ll be able to connect to most major phones released in the past four years. Just know that your phone will need to be compatible with satellite connectivity, so you’ll need to check that.

Experience More

This plan costs less than Experience Beyond, but it’s a significant price leap over the Essentials plan. It costs $85/month for one line, $140/month for two and three lines, and $170/month for four lines. Again, these prices only apply if you have autopay.

Experience More grants you unlimited data, but you get 60GB of high-speed and hotspot data. You get unlimited talk and text + 15GB of high-speed data in Mexico and Canada (then unlimited data at 256Kbps). Next, you get 5GB of high-speed international data (then unlimited data at 256Kbps). As for added perks, this plan will grant you a subscription to Netflix (with ads), Apple TV+, MLB.TV, and MLS Season Pass.

Just like the other plan, Experience More also grants you satellite connectivity. However, you’ll only have it until the end of 2025. Since we’re a quarter of the way through the year, just know that your time with it will be brief.

The Metro by T-Mobile plans

Metro unveiled four new plans called the Starter, Starter Plus, Flex Unlimited, and Flex Unlimited Plus plans. Starter is the most basic; it costs $25/month with autopay, and it gives you 10GB of data per month. Starter Plus costs $25/month, but it doesn’t require autopay for that price. This plan gives you unlimited data.

The Flex Unlimited plan costs $30/month with autopay. It comes with unlimited data and 8GB of hotspot data. Other perks include an Amazon Prime subscription for a limited time, and 100GB of Google One storage.

Lastly, Flex Unlimited Plus comes with the most features. It costs $35/month with autopay enabled. This one gives you unlimited internet and 25GB of hotspot data. You also get Amazon Prime and Google One added to your plan. Along with those, you also get unlimited international texting from T-Mobile’s networks to 210+ destinations.

Flex Unlimited Plus also gives you HD video streaming and it lets you add a smartwatch or tablet to your plan if you bring your own device.

All of these plans offer you a free 5G phone for every line. Also, all plans grant you Scam Shield protection and freebies through T-Mobile Tuesdays.

These plans are neat, but there’s an issue here

All of these new T-Mobile and Metro plans come with a five-year price guarantee. This highlights one of the issues with carriers. Five years is a pretty short time period. We’re at a point in time when prices for just about everything are going up. So, knowing that T-Mobile is only keeping its plans’ prices where they are for five years means that it will more than definitely raise the prices when the time is up.

We’ve seen this before with carriers upping prices the moment price locks expire. It’s just a bit disheartening to know that when you pay for a plan that there’s a time limit on how long before the price goes up.
