Xiaomi Opens Android 16 Developer Preview For Select Devices

The Android 16 beta continues to expand this week, as Xiaomi is also now following OnePlus with a limited preview release.

Announced through its website (h/t GSMArena, Location Tracking Hub), Xiaomi is now offering an Android 16 “Developer Preview Program” for Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro.

Xiaom says:

The Android 16 Developer Preview Program provides all the features needed to improve the compatibility and development of your application for the next version of Android. At present, Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 14T Pro are available for the Android 16 Developer Preview Program, which is free for developers to use. Flash the preview build, and you will be able to use it immediately.

You won’t find new HyperOS features in these builds, as they’re intended for developers to optimize their apps for the upcoming Android version through Xiaomi’s hardware. More details on any changes coming from Xiaomi with Android 16 are likely to be shared in the coming months.

OnePlus also opened up an Android 16 beta program for the OnePlus 13 this week, while Google is nearing the stable release of Android 16 in the next couple of months. A new beta release is due sometime this month.
