IPhone SE 4 To Cost Less Than $500 Thanks To In-House 5G Modem

According to a new report from Naver, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 could cost less than $500. Apple’s in-house 5G modem could be the main reason why that is.

The iPhone SE 4 to launch in Q1 2025 and cost less than $500

This phone has been in the rumor mill for a long, long time. It seems to finally be ready to launch, as it’s rumored to come in the first quarter of next year.

This smartphone will become the very first to include Apple’s in-house modem, which is codenamed Centauri. That also means that Apple will no longer have to pay Qualcomm a hefty premium for a 5G modem. Based on this report, that fact could keep the price of this phone below $500.

The closest model from Apple to this one, price-wise, will be the iPhone 16, which starts at $799. So, that will be a considerable difference, and the iPhone SE 4 could tempt quite a few people.

The iPhone SE 3 was priced at $429 at launch

As a reminder, the iPhone SE 3’s launch price was $429. We don’t know what exactly will be the iPhone SE 4’s price tag, but it will be under $500, so the difference could be minimal.

The iPhone SE 4 will be considerably larger than the iPhone SE 3, and it will include a notch up top. The phone will be fueled by the Apple A18 SoC, allegedly, and include 8GB of RAM as well.

A 6.06-inch OLED display will be used here, and generative AI features are also expected. Facial scanning will also be on offer here, and that’s pretty much everything we know thus far.

Some rumors said that a single camera will be placed on the back, others claimed two will. Chances are that the former info is accurate, though, as it was mentioned quite a few times now.
