OnePlus May Launch A Smaller Smartwatch In Global Markets Soon

Contents
Last month, OnePlus launched its latest smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 3. Soon after, Dr. Leo Zhang, the head of R&D at the OnePlus Health Lab, said that the brand could launch a new Watch 3 model in a different size. Zhang acknowledged that the OnePlus Watch 3 smartwatch remains heavy for a small wrist, and the company will fix that later this year. Now, a leaker on X has suggested that the upcoming OPPO Watch X2 Mini could arrive to global markets as the smaller OnePlus smartwatch.
Sources have tipped the dial size of the smaller OnePlus smartwatch
According to the tipster Abhishek Yadav, the smaller OnePlus smartwatch will feature a 43mm dial. The new wearable will be noticeably smaller than the OnePlus Watch 3, which sports a 47mm case. Furthermore, the source has suggested that the new device will have an 18mm strap. The upcoming smartwatch will cater to consumers who prefer a more discreet one.
It’s worth adding that the OnePlus Watch 3 is a rebranded OPPO Watch X2. Both wearables feature a similar set of hardware and are based on Wear OS 5. So, the news about the existing OPPO Watch X2 Mini launching as a new OnePlus compact smartwatch is hardly a surprise. OnePlus could launch the device as the Watch 3 Mini, but we can’t be too sure about it right now.

The smaller OnePlus Watch will have an attractive design
OPPO has already teased the design of the Watch X2 Mini in a post on Weibo. The teaser post has the image of the wearable showing a gold design. The company is describing the new watch as “pure and shining, as bright as gold.” Furthermore, the design highlights a round dial with chamfered edges around it.
We don’t know a lot of details about the Watch X2 Mini. Considering its smaller size, we can expect OPPO and OnePlus to fit it with a smaller battery. However, both companies have an excellent dual-processor system, which offers industry-leading battery life in this category. Also, a smaller display will consume less battery, so we don’t think there will be any battery life issue.
According to the tipster, OnePlus will soon launch the device in India and global markets. We don’t have an exact timeline for the launch, but we expect to hear about it soon after OPPO launches the Watch X2 Mini in the coming days.
