Huawei Announces Launch Date For Its “unexpected Product”

Summary: A launch date for Huawei’s “unexpected product” has been confirmed. March 20 is the date, as the Huawei Pocket 2 successor is expected. On top of that, a new SUV will be presented, along with a stable version of HarmonyOS NEXT. Huawei could also demonstrate DeepSeek-powered Celia assistant and more. This event will take place in China, though.

Last month, Huawei’s exec said that the company’s “unexpected product” is coming in March, and now we know its launch date. The launch is on March 20, and it will be a part of the company’s ‘Pura’ series, based on the teaser.

Huawei will announce its “unexpected product” on March 20

That will not be the only device that will arrive, however. The company is planning to announce quite a few new products in China on that day. The stable HarmonyOS NEXT operating system is also expected to drop. As a reminder, that is the Android-free version of Huawei’s OS.

Based on the teaser image that Huawei shared, both hardware and software will be shown during the event. Richard Yu, Huawei Consumer Business Chairman, said that blockbuster Pura products are coming.

The aforementioned “unexpected” product has once again been referred to. We’re also expected to see a brand new SUV at the event, based on what was said here. The event will start at 2:30 PM China time, by the way. It will be live-streamed via Weibo, but only in Chinese.

Is the company referring to the Pocket 3 foldable?

With that being said, that “unexpected” product is almost certainly the “affordable foldable phone” that has been referred to. The Huawei Pocket 3 was mentioned in rumors, but considering these are Pura products… maybe Huawei will rebrand it?

We wouldn’t exactly say that the Pocket 3 is an unexpected product by any means. We also don’t know what type of changes would Huawei need to make in order for it to be unexpected. The timing for its launch does fit. We’ll have to wait and see what Huawei has up its sleeve.

Huawei could also demonstrate the DeekSeek-powered Celia app during the event. Celia is Huawei’s digital assistant, and rumors have been saying that DeepSeek integration is coming.

All in all, Huawei will have plenty to talk about on March 20. Not all of those products will make it to global markets, but some probably will.
