Galaxy S25 Edge’s Battery Size Confirmed In Certification

Samsung officially teased the Galaxy S25 Edge back in January, but the proper launch is expected to happen in April. As the alleged timeframe approaches, leaks surrounding the device have been intensifying. In a new development, the Galaxy S25 Edge has been certified by Demko, confirming its battery capacity.

The Galaxy S25 Edge has been spotted on the listings of UL Solutions Demko, a Danish certification body. The filing includes two variants under the internal codes DK-162562-UL and DK-162516-UL. The batteries of both devices were also listed under the model numbers EB-BS937ABY and EB-BS937ABE, respectively.

Demko certifies the Galaxy S25 Edge with a nominal 3,786 mAh battery (3,900 mAh typical capacity)

Both variants of the Galaxy S25 Edge feature the same battery capacity. There is a cell with a nominal value of 3,786 mAh that Samsung could market as a 3,900 mAh battery. For reference, the vanilla Galaxy S25—which has a smaller display—is equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery. So, the cell on the Edge model could be the smallest on the flagship lineup. This is the main compromise Samsung had to make to achieve a thickness of around 5.84 mm.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the phone weighs 162 grams. This is basically the same weight as the base Galaxy S25. According to a recent leak, the Galaxy S25 Edge will have a 6.65-inch display with bezels as thin as those on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. So, its front could look slightly more “premium” than that of the vanilla S25 and Plus.

Other expected features

Samsung recently claimed that the phone’s thinness won’t compromise its durability. Some sources suggest that the firm will implement ceramics on the rear cover of the S25 Edge. This would give it greater resistance at the cost of being slightly heavier than it could be. GeekBench confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and 12GB of RAM will power the handset. Other leaked features include 120 Hz, 25W wired charging support, and a dual rear camera system commanded by a 200 MP main sensor.

Lastly, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to launch on April 16 for a higher price than the vanilla S25.
